A Andorinha- A Portuguesa Collection

In the mid-1891, Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro starts producing at its factory, small ceramic swallows designed by himself. A migratory bird that, on its return to a particular place, seeks to build its nest in the same place forever. The swallow, by owning a single partner throughout life, has taken on a symbolism associated with values such as Home, Family, but above all, Love, Loyalty and Faithfulness. The representation of this beautiful and cheerful, brave and loyal bird, touched the Portuguese heart. Throughout the XX century, the popular handicraft took over the swallows and vulgarized its use to decorate facades, balconies and domestic interiors all over the country. Shade 298 suits it perfectly.
